Auxiliary Officers
Kattie Wenner
The Woodville Police Auxiliaries are comprised of certified OPOTC police officers through the State of Ohio. We do place officers on our department that are currently in the Peace Officers Academy which is contingent on their successful completion. The auxiliaries are required to give 20 hours of their time to the Village of Woodville every month. This is a mandatory set of hours that has been written into the policies and procedures. Every officer is made aware of this policy before ever being hired. Although this would seem to many to be a great deal of hours to serve, a new officer getting hired onto a police department part-time or full-time immediately is very difficult without experience.
The Woodville Police Department is aware that we are a stepping stone for many officers; however we realize that the experience must be obtained from somewhere and at some point. All of the officers who are promoted to either part-time or full-time come from the auxiliary. We are very proud of this program as it helps
